The gate’s history is one of rejection and threatened destruction and its existence today, as the centerpiece of Fort Garry Gateway Park on the east side of Fort Street, seems due more to luck and happen stance than civic planning. The last remnant of Upper Fort Garry, which was dismantled in 1881-1882, the gate is a shell structure. The only decoration on its bare stone walls are commemorative plaques by the Canadian Club of Winnipeg and the Historic Sites Advisory Board of Canada.

The Y.M.C.A. was established in response of the community’s great desire to help the needy people.The building had become an avenue for the new born philosophy unifying the spirit, mind and body.

The first Y.M.C.A. building was located at 276 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba. This building was designed by Browne, George, Nobbs, Percy in 1900. But because of rising property tax in the area , the authorities decided to move it out in 1913 at Vaughan St.

Maxwell Labovitch is a professional ice hockey player coming from the city of Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was born on January 18, 1924. Max had played hockey for almost a decade but he missed out two seasons because he has to serve the military from 1942-1945.

Threshing outfit, Gus Noel’s farm (present day Earl Klepatz). For additional information, threshing is the process where the edible part of cereal grain is loosened from the scaly, inedible chaff around it. Threshing is done by beating the cereal grain using a thrash on a threshing floor. In other areas threshing is done by spreading the grain on the country road so the grain may be threshed by the passing vehicle’s wheels.
